Preschool is often the first opportunity for observation of school-readiness activities and skills. Thus, the preschool programs provide a foundation for learning and prepare pupils for success in kindergarten and beyond. School-readiness activities in preschool focus on physical, motor, social and emotional development.
The Preschool Department has four (4) preschool teachers and four (4) student assistants who assist the preschool teachers. The Department Head and the Subject Area Coordinators monitor the translation of the VMGO and the learning competencies into the classroom instructions.
The Preschool Department is located at the Uchida Building. It is a 2-storey building with air- conditioned classrooms equipped with a 50-inched LED TV which is one of the tools of the teachers in classroom instructions. The preschool classrooms are located at the ground floor while the faculty room is located at the 2nd floor of the Uchida Building. The preschool pupils are also provided with a playpen with three (3) big slides, two (2) small slides and four (4) seesaws that were being used during their outdoor activity session.
As the world changes, so must PNJK-IS. The school management is dedicated towards ensuring that the curriculum, teaching methods and the infrastructure are upgraded and are kept up-to-date, to keep pace with the rapid changes taking place in the education field.
