Admission For New/Transfer Student

SCHOOL POLICY ON THE ADMISSION FOR NEW/TRANSFER STUDENTS

The Philippine Nikkei Jin Kai International School (PNJK-IS) will accommodate new, transferring and returning students who desire to enroll in this institution provided that they abide by the policy and meet the institutional requirements.

Entrance examination starts from middle of February. The school will entertain applicants provided that the slots in the grade/year level where he/she will enroll in are still available.

The school reserves the right to refuse admission to students who failed the entrance examination and interview or those who have committed serious disciplinary offenses.


PROCEDURE

1. Entrance Examination and Interview

1.1 The applicant shall present to the Registrar’s Office a photocopy of his/her recent Report Card from the previous school for screening and evaluation before allowing him/her to take the entrance examination.

1.2 For the Pre-kindergarten levels (Nursery and Junior Kinder) and Kindergarten level, the applicant shall be admitted according to his/her age during the enrollment period. The applicant shall still undergo entrance evaluation. Present school records, if there are any.

The following are the age requirement for the Pre-kindergarten and Kindergarten levels:

  • 3 years old – Nursery level
  • 4 years old – Junior Kinder level
  • 5 years old – Kindergarten level

1.3 For the incoming Grade I pupil, the applicant must have undergone and completed the Kindergarten education from a school recognized or authorized by the Department of Education before allowing him/her to take the entrance examination and enroll in the Grade I level.

2. Having passed the entrance examination and interview, the applicant shall comply with the admission documentary requirements, to wit:

1. Admission Slip (issued from the Guidance Office after the entrance examination and interview)
2. Original recent Report Card
3. Certificate of good moral character
4. Photocopy of PSA (formerly NSO) birth certificate, 2 copies
5. Three (3) pieces of 1×1 ID picture with red background

Admission documentary requirements for Nursery, Junior Kinder and Kindergarten are as follows:

1. Admission Slip (issued from the Guidance Office after the entrance examination and interview)
2. Photocopy of PSA (formerly NSO) birth certificate, 2 copies
3. Three (3) pieces of 1×1 ID picture with red background
4. School records (if there are any)

3. The applicant shall submit the complete admission documentary requirements to the Registrar’s Office for screening during the enrollment period.

4. The school, satisfied with the submitted admission documentary requirements, will inform the applicant to process the enrollment in the school and pay the necessary school fees.

5. A student is considered officially enrolled only after he/she has complied with all the required admission credentials and has made an initial payment of school fees.

6. Those who seek enrollment on a visitor’s status, an applicant shall make a letter-request indicating therein the length and purpose of his/her stay in the school, subject for approval by the School Administration. The applicant shall follow the same policy on admission for students, submit necessary documentary requirements and shall pay the pertinent fees set by the school.

“Those who are admitted under visitor status are those students who shall only stay in the school for a certain period of time and not for the entire school year with the school’s permission. Their names shall not be included in the official list of enrollees of the school. Moreover, the school is not required to give any scholastic records during their stay in the school.”
