Grade 1- Aki pupil Samantha Cutamora was adjudged as the Champion in the DAPRISA’s Poetry Recitation competition held at Davao Christian Learning Center last February 6, 2019. The said competition was participated in by twenty-five (25) schools for which Philippine Nikkei Jin Kai International School’s representative was declared as the champion. Cutamora was trained by her English teacher Ms. Nikki Jeanne Baucan.

The school also participated in the Story Telling Contest for Grade 2 for which the school’s representative Louvie Mine Corpuz of Grade 2-Kinomi ranked 9 th out of twenty-five (25) participants. The Story Telling contest was conducted last February 6, 2019 at Davao Christian Learning Center. While the school’s representative for Grade Three’s Declamation Competition, Lean Daryn P. Estrella of Grade 3-Mori placed 14th out of twenty-five (25) participants. The Declamation competition was done last February 7, 2019 at Southpoint School of Davao. Both were trained by their English teacher Ms. Mary Rhean Ayucan.

The said competitions were conducted with the objective of enhancing the literary skills of the students, to bring to light the hidden talents among the students and conduct various literary events providing a platform for the students to shine in their known skills.

DAPRISA’s Literary Festival dubbed as SPEAK UP, SPEAK IT RIGHT provides an opportunity to the graders to improve their speaking abilities. The said competition is a good avenue to develop their Oral English Communication Skills. It also builds up and stimulates students’ interest in learning the Second Language.
